The new location in Bischoffen is designed for future growth
For some time now, there has been a lack of space at our headquarters, where we employ currently around 260 people. From this point of view of Managing Director Jörg Teichmann, who is responsible for the new production facility, the decision for the new location has great potential: "In Bischoffen we have found promising overall conditions - from the size of the site, which will also accommodate for future growth, to the ease of constructing and accessibility to the site, up to the outstanding coordination with those responsible in the council."
Around 11,500 m² production and storage facility
In the first step, a production hall of almost 6,000 m², a warehouse of about 3,700 m², further social and office areas of about 1,500 m² and more than 250 parking spaces will be built. With a 900 kWP photovoltaic system, e-Parking spaces and a parking area for bicycles, we also underline our aspirations for a net-zero production and sustainability.
The schedule is ambitious: the handover is scheduled for the end of the year, and the relocation is planned for early 2024. The Goldbeck Group, a construction company specialised in commercial and public building construction, which is also one of our long-standing customers, was entrusted with the project. For Jörg Teichmann, Goldbeck is an excellent partner for the implementation of such a large project.
Added value – also for our customers
Large parts – including administration, marketing, product management and development – are to remain at the headquarters in Mittenaar after completion of the new building. All areas of production and warehousing, on the other hand, will be relocated from their two sites in Mittenaar and a third site in Herborn to Bischoffen. Harald Zygan is sure that this will bring advantages for all sides: "The new location will be home to more than half of our employees in future. The consolidation allows us, among other things, to greatly simplify our intra-logistics and to ensure short, efficient routes. Thermokon's customers will also benefit from this."
